Thank you for showing an interest in this project, which is being undertaken by researchers at Essex County Council, Active Essex, and their contractors.  The purpose of this project is to examine individuals’ perceptions of their local area, physical activity levels and associated wellbeing in Essex. The work is part of the evaluation of the Essex Local Delivery Pilot, which is looking to tackle issues around physical inactivity and become a beacon of best practice.  You have to be resident in Essex and aged 16 years or over in order to participate.  

 

Completing the questionnaire should take 5-10 minutes. 

 

You do not have to take this survey. Your participation in this survey is voluntary. You may refuse to take part or stop the survey at any time. Your data will be submitted only upon completing the entire questionnaire. You can request to have your data deleted at any time by emailing data.insight@activeessex.org

 

How we will manage your data

Your responses will be confidential.  Any personal information you provide will be held securely so no one else can see it who isn’t meant to see it. Some of the data will be collected and stored by third party organisations.  All electronic data will be converted to an anonymised or pseudo-anonymised form as early as practicable possible, with only the immediate research team having ongoing access to the data that is not anonymised (email addresses). Additionally third party organisations will have access to this data to support the project, where necessary. In cases of adult participants, to enable repeat data collection on the same individual, individuals will enter their email address as unique identifier. This will be kept separate from the rest of the questionnaire and will only be used to link the data for you from one visit to another or contacting you asking you complete the data on other occasions.

 

We will ask you to provide some information about yourself and your personal experiences as we know these factors can influence how people feel about their lives. There are some questions about finance, ethnicity, and disabilities. We would like to remind you that your answers are always confidential and we cannot tell who you are.
